Family Occupation Permit

The Family Occupation Permit allows the spouse and dependants of an Occupation Permit holder to reside and, if desired, work in Mauritius. It requires a contribution of USD 250,000 to the Mauritius Revenue Authority.

Eligibility Criteria

The principal applicant must hold a valid Occupation Permit
Proof of relationship (marriage certificate or birth certificate for dependants)
Contribution of USD 250,000 to the MRA
Valid passports for all family members
Police clearance certificates for all family members aged 18 and above
Proof of accommodation in Mauritius

Application Process

The principal applicant confirms their Occupation Permit is in good standing

Prepare relationship documents and police clearances

Make the USD 250,000 contribution to the MRA

Submit the Family Occupation Permit application to the EDB

Upon approval, the family members receive their permits

Practical Considerations

The permit is tied to the principal applicant's permit status
If the principal applicant's permit expires, the family permits are affected
Dependants may work in Mauritius without a separate work permit
The USD 250,000 contribution is non-refundable
