Occupation Permit (Investor)

The Occupation Permit for investors enables foreign nationals to establish, acquire, or invest in a business in Mauritius and to manage that business on a full-time basis.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum investment of USD 50,000 in the business (higher thresholds may apply)
The applicant must hold at least 10% of the share capital of the company
A viable business plan demonstrating economic contribution to Mauritius
The business must be registered with the Corporate and Business Registration Department
Valid passport with at least 6 months remaining validity
Police clearance certificate

Application Process

Establish or acquire a company registered in Mauritius

Prepare a detailed business plan and financial projections

Submit the Occupation Permit application to the EDB with all supporting documents

The EDB evaluates the business proposal and investment

Upon approval, the permit is issued and the investor may manage the business
